There are flights jetting into this centrally located airport from all over Argentina - from the near-arctic Ushuaia in the far south to the tropical Iguazu in the north. There are even a number of short flights to neighboring Uruguay. Key points about the Buenos Aires airport for domestic travel
- The airport is located on the shores of the ‘Rio de la Plata’ only a few minutes drive from Palermo, in the north of the city. - It should only take 15 minutes to get to the airport from downtown Buenos Aires, but at rush hour this journey can take as long as 40 minutes. Flying further afield? Getting to Aeroparque Jorge NewburyTaking a cab to AeroparqueWith Aeroparque being so close to the city it is really cheap to take a taxi. We took a radio taxi from San Telmo to Aeroparque – it took us 15 minutes and cost just AR$15 (US$5). Alternatively you can call either of the airports two registered taxi firms Manuel Tienda Leon (phone: 4314 3636) or Transfer Express (phone: 4312 883); both charge around AR$28 (US$9). The airport shuttle bus to Aeroparque Buses leave every hour from around 7am till 12pm from their Madero Terminal on the corner of ‘avenues Madero and San Martin’. Getting from Aeroparque to downtown Buenos AiresTaking a taxiBoth of the airport’s two registered taxi firms Manuel Tiendo Leon (phone: 4314 3636) and Transfer Express (phone: 4312 883) have stands located at the airport. Both are recommended if you are a newcomer to Buenos Aires. Local taxis line up just outside the terminal. But, if you take a local taxi make sure it is a radio taxi (with the companies name written on the taxi). WARNING - all other taxis are independent and some operate tourist scams including robbery and giving counterfeit notes as change. The Buenos Aires airport shuttle bus These buses depart every hour from around 9am till 11.30pm from the airport to their Madero Terminal in downtown Retiro. WARNING - Never take a radio taxi from Ezeiza International Airport as some taxis at this airport will try to take advantage of international travelers arriving in Buenos Aires.
