There are flights jetting into this centrally located airport from all over Argentina - from the near-arctic Ushuaia in the far south to the tropical Iguazu in the north. There are even a number of short flights to neighboring Uruguay.

Getting to Aeroparque Jorge Newbury

Taking a cab to Aeroparque
With Aeroparque being so close to the city it is really cheap to take a taxi. We took a radio taxi from San Telmo to Aeroparque – it took us 15 minutes and cost just AR$15 (US$5).

Alternatively you can call either of the airports two registered taxi firms Manuel Tienda Leon (phone: 4314 3636) or Transfer Express (phone: 4312 883); both charge around AR$28 (US$9).

The airport shuttle bus to Aeroparque
Manual Tienda Leon operates luxury air-conditioned buses, which run from downtown Retiro to this Buenos Aires airport. The tickets cost AR$12 per person (one way) and they will drop you off or pick you up at your hotel (if you are centrally located).

Buses leave every hour from around 7am till 12pm from their Madero Terminal on the corner of ‘avenues Madero and San Martin’. Check out www.tiendaleon.com for more details.

Getting from Aeroparque to downtown Buenos Aires

Taking a taxi
Both of the airport’s two registered taxi firms Manuel Tiendo Leon (phone: 4314 3636) and Transfer Express (phone: 4312 883) have stands located at the airport. Both are recommended if you are a newcomer to Buenos Aires.

Local taxis line up just outside the terminal. But, if you take a local taxi make sure it is a radio taxi (with the companies name written on the taxi).

WARNING - all other taxis are independent and some operate tourist scams including robbery and giving counterfeit notes as change.

The Buenos Aires airport shuttle bus
Alternatively take the shuttle bus with Manual Tienda Leon (phone: 4314 3636).

These buses depart every hour from around 9am till 11.30pm from the airport to their Madero Terminal in downtown Retiro. It’s situated on the corner of ‘avenues Madero and San Martin’ and they will drop you off at any of the downtown hotels on route. Check out www.tiendaleon.com for more details.

The local bus
For those on a budget, there are a number of local buses that run to and from the airport from downtown. The number ‘33-Aeroparque’ operates from Plaza de Mayo to the local Buenos Aires airport, but unless you know the city reasonably well, I wouldn’t recommend this method of getting into the city as it’s easy to miss your stop and end up in the wrong place.

To ride any bus in this city you will need:
- to be able to speak some Spanish,
- a map so you know where you are going, download a map of Buenos Aires here.
- some loose change (usually AR$0.80).

Connections between Buenos Aires airports

There are three ways to connect between the international airport and domestic airport - catch a radio taxi, a registered taxi or the airport shuttle bus service.

Taxi
A taxi between the two airports with one of the two registered firms mentioned above, will cost around AR$75-95.

If you take a radio taxi it should cost around AR$65-75 but only take one from Aeroparque to Ezeiza (not the other way around). WARNING - Never take a radio taxi from Ezeiza International Airport as some taxis at this airport will try to take advantage of international travelers arriving in Buenos Aires.

The airport shuttle bus
Manual Tienda Leon operate luxury airport shuttle buses (phone: 4314 3636) –the trip between the two airports cost around AR$35.

To Aeroparque from Ezeiza – Buses leave every hour from around 6.30am till 12pm from just outside Ezeiza terminal.
